Explaining Non-Invasive Neuromodulation with Prismatic Adaptation – Video

Prismatic Adaptation in practice

MindLenses Professional, our digital therapy for cognitive intervention, is based on two principles:

(1) Serious Games, exercises to train specific cognitive abilities and
(2) Prismatic Adaptation, a non-invasive neuromodulation technique.

A session with MindLenses begins with Prismatic Adaptation: the patient performs the protocol on the tablet while wearing glasses with prismatic lenses, which deviate the visual field to the right or left.

During Prismatic Adaptation, the patient points to a series of visual targets appearing at various points on the screen. In order to perform the exercise correctly, the patient must correct the perception error induced by the prismatic lenses.

Following the Prismatic Adaptation procedure, which lasts only 5 minutes, the brain enters a time window of increased plasticity, which lasts about 45 minutes. During this period, the brain is more reactive and more responsive, ready for the cognitive stimulation that will follow.

In the plasticity window, the patient performs the serious games, exercises that have a rehabilitative effect on specific cognitive functions such as memory, attention, language and executive functions.
